Can sleep up to 19 guests in total: 6 across 3 bedrooms in the castle + 13 between the self catering Esmonde Wing, Gate Lodge and Gate Cottage.
Huntington Castle was built in 1625 as a garrison on the strategically important Wexford to Dublin route. After 50 years the soldiers moved out and the family began to convert it into a family home. Many generations of the family subsequently added various extensions and details making it a truly unique and interesting building. In the 1970’s the basement was converted into a temple to the Egyptian Goddess Isis and the family continue to renovate and restore the castle.
The Gardens were mainly laid out in the 1680's by the Esmondes. They feature impressive formal plantings and layouts including the Italian style 'Parterre' or formal gardens, as well the French lime Avenue (planted in 1680). The world famous yew walk is a highlight which is thought to to be over 500 years old.

We have a few different options if you would like to stay here at Huntington - you can either stay in the castle on a B&B basis or if you would prefer we offer self-catering in the Esmonde Wing, Gate Cottage or Castle Cottage.

The barn theatre is one of Irelands oldest barns and was built nearly 400 years ago. It is a great space to hold the banquet and dancing element of your wedding party. You can also decorate it to your own theme if you wish and put your own twist on your special celebrations.
