We are a private family run house that opens up its doors to you and your guests with a warm and homely welcome.

From the moment you arrive at Borris House you will realise that we are not a hotel, but an exclusive family run country house where your every need is catered for. The recently refurbished State rooms are exquisitely furnished with original antiques, interesting curios and family paintings. Set within 650 acres of stunning parkland with endless sweeping views from every window the charming, romantic and relaxed atmosphere of Borris House is undoubtedly the perfect location for your special day.
Borris House has a choice of truly unique and enviable spaces for your wedding ceremony. The beautifully restored 18th century Chapel of St Moling is nestled in the East gardens and is available for Anglican weddings or Catholic blessings. While the newly restored Granary is the ideal space for blessings, humanist and civil ceremonies. Its rustic stone walls and wooden beams with discreet up lighting and candles create a wonderfully warm welcoming ambience for your guests. Borris House also has a myriad of enchanting options for outside ceremonies and blessings.
After your ceremony, the house and gardens are open to you and your guests to enjoy. Have a glass of bubbly while taking in the spectacular views and a game of croquet with your friends while keeping hunger at bay with either a Victorian inspired afternoon tea on the lawn or a selection of our delicious hand-crafted canapés until you are called into dinner. If the weather is unfavourable or you are holding a winter weather, they why not snuggle up to the roaring fire in the Drawing Room or marvel at the incredible plaster work in the Morrison Hall or simply bask in the spirit of Christmas under our 12 foot home grown Christmas tree?
After your drinks reception, take their breath away with dinner in our stunning Ballroom wing! This large room sits 160 guests on either round or long tables. With 8 Georgian windows and 2 sets of French doors that open out on to the gardens, this sun-drenched room is attached to the main house but is completely different in every way. Rustic in charm with its high-beamed ceilings, natural stone walls and open fireplace, the ballroom wing is very impressive in scale and oozes the wow factor.
