Description

A Georgian mansion built in 1790, Orlagh is truly a unique house set on 45 acres in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, with uninterrupted views of Dublin City Centre, Howth Head and the Irish Sea.

The property, a former Augustinian retreat, is being lovingly restored since its acquisition in 2017. The house comprises beautifully arranged and furnished reception rooms with real fires, tasteful antique furniture, and a large entertaining room overseen by resident canine, the lovely Tuco.

Orlagh is a large house on extensive mature grounds. There are 14 bedrooms, some ensuite, but all with wash/hand basins or access to showers and water closets.

The substantial house and grounds are available for private hire. We are not a hotel but have a large number of bedrooms, reception rooms, a large Oratory and decadent parlour room, drawing room and a dining room with an impressive Regency table that seats 20, complete with dining chairs from the venerable Gillows of Lancaster.

There is a large basement area with table tennis, dart-board, and full-sized snooker table.

The house really is a one-of-a-kind. Whilst having incredible views from the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, it is only 25 minutes to Dublin Airport, and has all that Dublin City Centre has to offer on its doorstep, with the wilds of the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains behind.

Wedding Description

With the house’s unique Wow factor and its 45-acre setting, Orlagh is made for engagement parties and special weddings. The house itself can cater for reasonably-sized weddings, whilst the addition of an outside marquee can cater to an even larger number of guests.

The Oratory, was a former chapel, and has in-situ a working organ and has even been used in the past for band performances. It also doubles up as a great dance-floor.
